3D Game Artist

The 3D Game Artist will engage in creating 3D assets (environments, characters) required in the production cycle of game titles for next-gen consoles. He/she will be tasked on the modeling, texturing and lighting for the environment or characters under the constraints, following the direction of lead artist, art director, and technical director.

Description

  • Creating 3D models - characters/assets/backgrounds
  • Plan, with the immediate supervisor, the objects and characters, to be created
  • Creation of objects and characters choosing the quality to achieve versus the importance in the game and technical constraints
  • Have the objects and characters validated by the Lead Artist and the Art Director
  • Verify the quality of objects and characters, once imported into the game, and make improvements when necessary
  • Job Requirements

  • Proficient in 3DSMax and Maya
  • Proficient in Zbrush
  • Ability to digitally sculpt/model & texture both high & low polygon characters or environments
  • Good knowledge of normal map generation.
  • Good knowledge of UV layout, texturing & shading
  • Ability to construct and elaborate on characters based off key reference or concepts
  • Experienced with managing polygon count and texture budgets
  • Knowledgeable in Photoshop [knowledge of multiple map types (AO, Normal, Diffuse, Tile, etc.)]
  • Good knowledge & understanding of anatomy
  • Notion of proportions and an eye for the details
  • Realistic and fictional humans and creatures
  • Other Requirements

  • Previous experience working on next-gen game projects in the videogame industry is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the video games industry
  • Degree or Diploma holder majoring in Fine Arts, Digital Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Good command of English
  • Communicative and team player
  • Willing to long-term commitment to the company
